---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lake Creek | 1015 | Lake Creek | From the West Fork of the San Jacinto River confluence upstream to the Landrum Creek confluence. Sub-Segment 1015A: Mound Creek (unclassified water body). From the Lake Creek confluence upstream to the confluence with an unnamed tributary approximately 0.75 km (0.47 mi) downstream of Rabon-Chapel Road. Sub-Segment 1015B: Caney Creek (unclassified water body). From the Lake Creek confluence upstream to a point 2.4 km (1.5 mi) south of FM 1774 | The watershed is rural in nature and is dominated by forested land and grassland with the major land cover used as pastureland for hay. Residential development is occurring rapidly in the watershed particularly in the southern part of the watershed where growth is occurring just west of the City of Conroe and I-45 between Texas Highway 2854 and Texas Highway 1488. There are a few other pockets of development in the center of the watershed outside of the City of Montgomery although there are no major population centers. | Lake Creek is one of lesser impacted waterways in the entire region. In the Draft 2010 Texas Integrated Report (IR), the Assessment Unit (AU) 1015_02 was the only AU identified as having a concern. Dissolved oxygen (DO) grab samples had 3 out of 18 measurements (17%) below the grab minimum standard of 3 mg/L and 22% of the measurements were below the grab screening level of 5 mg/L. The 2008 Texas Integrated Report (IR) had no concerns or impairments identified for this segment. | Watershed Map |
In general, the discussion of water quality issues applies only to classified portions of the watershed |

Statistics in this table apply to the time period selected by H-GAC for analysis; additional data is available in the TCEQ Surface Water Monitoring Information System database |
P-value and time correlation derived from nonparametric correlation analysis of concentration and collection date; trends identified have not been confirmed by other methods and should not be considered definitive |
Exceedance statistics reflect samples that exceed single-sample or geometric mean criteria published in Chapter 307 of the Texas Administrative Code (6/30/10), or TCEQ nutrient screening levels |
Nutrient data (chlorophyll a, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, and orthophosphate phosphorus) are not collected at all stations |
A time correlation of 'M' indicates that all sample values were identical; regresssion statistics are not valid |
